My favorite time of the day is right at day break. I love to sit and watch the sunrise on the horizon, listening to all creation awake and start a new day. It is now, when the sun is rising, that I sit still with my coffee in hand, embracing the beauty of morning. After basking in the sun's warm rays for a while, I start out to the barn for chores. I greatly enjoy going into the barn in the quiet light of dawn, saying "Good Morning" to my goat girls and hearing them greet me in return. As I make my rounds I can't help but chuckle at the sound of 35 does munching away at that glorious smelling stuff we call hay. I bring the does up on the stands and begin to milk, the little ting ping sounds that come from the bucket bring the kittens in circling around my feet, waiting patiently for their warm breakfast. In the background, I hear the chickens cackling from the coop, I can only imagine they are probably arguing over who gets to sit in what nesting box. The sheep and the cows are the last to awaken. The loud sound of their moooos and baaaas surround me as I walk out to greet them. The calves tickle my chin and cheek asking me to scratch them under their jaws and neck. What a joy to be living on this little farm! Not to say that I live 'happily ever after' with no struggles and hardships fir believe me when I say that I have trials just the same as you! It's just that I'm learning to take in and enjoy the simple joys in life. Life is what you make it to be, no matter what happens today, God has promised that the sun will rise tomorrow.
